Case Studies: Alterra Bioenergy



CHALLENGE: KYS sought out Alterra Bioenergy, a biodiesel firm based in Macon, Georgia. Alterra produced an innovative product — Alterra DieselMaxx™, a diesel fuel additive with green properties – that allows truckers to go green “one tank at a time.” Alterra DieselMaxx™ was tested by the University of Georgia and proven to bring down greenhouse gas emissions, enhance engine lubricity for ULSD fuel and boost cetane ratings. Alterra needed to locate its market – FAST.

STRATEGY: KYS provided message development, marketing support and event planning services. We conducted extensive research on the trucking industry and using a focused message, helped open doors for Alterra. We spearheaded the development of an electronic brochure, and provided event planning coordination and business outreach for a truck industry meeting featuring former President Jimmy Carter held in Plains, Georgia on 9/18/2008.

RESULT: Thanks in large part to our efforts, Alterra connected with some of the largest truck-stop companies and truck companies in the nation and, within a short time-frame, successfully signed a national deal to distribute Alterra DieselMaxx™.
